Country music singer/songwriter George Molton was a mainstay at Lexington’s Austin City Saloon for five years and continues to win new fans every time he performs. He has been showcased at the Austin City soundstage at the Civic Center Shops prior to country concerts at Rupp Arena, introducing thousands of fans from all walks of life to his contemporary sound, deeply rooted in traditional country music. At age eleven he began singing the songs he grew up hearing, and by age twelve he had written over fifty songs himself. At age fifteen Molton began performing before live audiences, and eighteen years later he is at the top of his game.
The Bluegrass native, who came from the small Eastern Kentucky town of Olive Hill, promises to be one of the hottest new acts on the Country Music scene. Coming from a close knit family, he grew up with a variety of music styles, and he includes Conway Twitty, George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Keith Whitley on the list of his musical influences. He has entertained crowds from West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee with his traditional, yet original, style of music. George has cuts on two major albums including Weekend Superstar on John Michael Montgomery’s Brand New Me album and Too Hard To Handle, Too Free To Hold on Montgomery Gentry’s Carrying On album.
George Molton is continuing his writing career while seeking his own record deal. His own style, though not always traditional, cannot be mistaken for anything other than pure country music. Every song is as heartfelt and genuine as the essence of the genre itself.
